The EEVC WG17 Test Procedure for Head Impactor Component Test has become widely used. However the kinematics of the whole body may influence the head injury. In this study crash tests with the Pedestrian Dummy and with the Impactor are conducted and the main factors causing the difference between both results are considered. Two different front shapes of vehicles, a passenger car and a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), are chosen for the tests. The main factors for the differences are the head impact velocity, three directional acceleration values for HIC and head effective mass.
