Abstract
A constitutive equation for parallel-fibered elastic tissue is developed in the form of a non-linear hereditary integral. Material constants were determined from relaxation tests and these were used in the constitutive equation to predict results of constant strain rate tests, hysteresis loops and sinusoidal tests. Test speciments were obtained from the ligamentum nuchae of gross bovine specimens.
