Thoracic injury in the pediatric population is a relatively common cause of severe injury and a marker of injury severity accompanied by a high mortality rate. However, no anatomically accurate, complex pediatric chest finite element (FE) component model is available for a 10 year‐old (YO) in the literature. In the current study, a 10 YO thorax FE model was developed based on scanned geometries. The model was then validated against published data measured during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) performed on pediatric subjects.
