Lisfranc injuries represent a difficult group of fracture/dislocations for which the best results have been obtained in patients who have achieved an anatomic reduction. Screw fixation provides greater stability than K-wires; however, most surgeons remove stainless steel screws after surgery to prevent screw breakage. Use of absorbable implants obviates the need for screw removal, and initial results with their use are promising. The technique presented demonstrates the exposure, reduction technique, and specific method for using absorbable screws for this complex injury.
