In its attempt to decrease the private automobile accidents experienced by USAF personnel worldwide, a new driver training program based on the concept of behavior change through attitude change was developed, making use of a multimedia presentation system. A comparison of the USAF accident experience before and after the initiation of this program indicates a marked improvement. The program is currently under revision after being selected by the Department of Transportation for expansion to civilian use. This paper is a presentation of the rationale, development, results, and projected future expansion of the program.
