A review of more than 60 side impact full scale tests using the EUROSID-1 dummy, according to the European Procedure (EEVC ERGA S/65 and the following TRANS/ SC1/WP29/GRSP/R.48Rev.1 and Rev.2) is presented.
An analysis of instrumentation and results is carried out.
The test configuration (relating to the type of barrier, the barrier height, the seat positioning and the test instrumentation) is presented.
From the above mentioned tests, a data base has been created.
After a description of the data base organization, statistical analysis is carried out using the available data in order to find a correlation between biomechanics and the most relevant structural data.
Finally, data relating to the most important "open" questions of the new procedure are presented and discussed in details.
