In this paper, methodological, measurement and statistical issues regarding research in sport injury prediction are discussed. Particular attention is paid to how future research might be conducted (i.e., research design), the measurement of physical and psychological constructs (e.g., injury, life stress), and different approaches concerning statistical analyses of prospective data. In summary, recommendations concerning future research are offered. including: obtaining multiple measures of predictors across athletic seasons. examining moderitor variables (e.g., social support, playing status). and using prospective research designs.
