Abstract
A 48-year-old man was admitted with a left midfoot compound fracture-dislocation following a crush injury that caused lateral displacement of the forefoot. Preoperative radiographs revealed the dislocation was through the navicular-cuneiform joint on the medial side and through the calcaneo-cuboid articulation on the lateral side. The dislocation was reduced under a general anaesthetic and held with four Kirschner wires. These were removed 8 weeks following the injury and reduction was still maintained one month later when the patient was ambulant with crutches.
