Texture and bendability of sheet aluminum alloys were investigated. Experiments were performed by bending test coupons cuts at different angles to the rolling direction. Strain distribution of bend samples was calculated by Abaque Explicit software. The transition of cube orientations during bending was predicted by using VPSC6.0 sofware. The effects of initial texture and particle structure on bend behavior as well as failure initiation are discussed. It is concluded that particle and void volume fractions have significant effect on bendability with textures also playing an important role in governing the bendability.
